Financing

Cost shouldn’t be the reason you put off getting help. At Ventura Wellness Behavioral Health in Thousand Oaks, we talk through what treatment will cost before you start, so there are no surprises. Most people begin with a free insurance check, and our admissions team can also discuss other payment options with you directly.

Start With Your Insurance

Many health plans cover outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, including our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). We’re in network with many major commercial carriers, including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Shield of California, Blue Cross of California, Kaiser, Tricare, TriWest and UnitedHealthcare/Optum.

What you’ll pay depends on your plan: your deductible, copays or coinsurance, and your out-of-pocket maximum. Our admissions team will check your benefits for free, usually the same day, and explain what’s covered in plain terms. Verify your insurance online to get started.

Please note that we do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal.

Other Ways to Pay

If your plan leaves a balance, such as a deductible or coinsurance, or if you’d rather not use insurance, we offer flexible payment options. Because every situation is different, we discuss self-pay rates and payment arrangements one on one rather than listing them here.

To ask about pricing or payment options, call our admissions team at 805-905-5483 or send us a message. The conversation is confidential, and asking doesn’t commit you to anything.

What to Have Ready When You Call

  • Your insurance card, if you have one, including the member ID and the policyholder’s name and date of birth
  • A sense of which program you’re considering, or questions about which one fits
  • Any questions about schedules, such as our morning, afternoon and evening tracks

Financing FAQs

Do I need insurance to get treatment?

No. Insurance is the most common way clients pay, but it isn’t required. Contact our admissions team directly to ask about self-pay rates and payment options. If cost still stands in the way, we’ll point you to other resources so you aren’t left without a next step.

Will checking my insurance commit me to treatment?

No. A benefits check is free and carries no obligation. It simply tells you what your plan covers so you can decide what to do next, whether that’s starting with us, choosing a different level of care, or taking more time to think it over.

Do you accept Medicare or Medi-Cal?

No, we don’t accept Medicare or Medi-Cal. If you have Medi-Cal, the free SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-4357 can help you find treatment options that accept it.
